Chuck Broughton met the Navigators in 1961-62 and joined the staff in 1968. He and his wife, Ellen, have served in student, church, and community ministries both in the U.S. and overseas. In addition to training and supervising staff around the world, Chuck has served as the Administrative Director for Europe, Middle East, and Africa, as well as the Asia Regional Ministry Facilitator.
Living in several oversea cultures has motivated Chuck to be active in intercultural training with CoMission, to help the IMG prepare new Nav missionaries, and to work with the Cultural Affairs team in an ethnic-focused ministry. Chuck writes Bible study and training materials for these ministries and is actively engaged in curriculum design and implementation of faith-based programs for prisons, working in several states. Teaching the Bible, training laborers for the “harvest,” and reaching out to “the least, the last, and the lost” are Chuck and Ellen’s passion.

Having spent several years planting churches in Ireland and the Netherlands, the move to Portugal has changed our lives! Learning a new language and ways has been challenging, but we strongly believe we need to make disciples and find faithful men who can teach others.

Alternatives Care Centers
Alternatives is a pro-life, Christian, non-profit organization independent from all other agencies. We strive to meet the needs of men, women, and families in our community through building relationships, but we do not initiate or facilitate independent adoptions. We promote the value of human life by serving the unborn and their families through the love of Jesus Christ.
